How to install and configure the MTX eSIM on iPhone

There are several ways to install the MTX Connect eSIM to your iPhone, you can choose the Automatic Activation in the MTXC app for a fast and seamless eSIM installation, or you can use the QR code scanning installation.

Before you start, be sure that:

  • you have a reliable and strong internet connection
  • your iPhone is carrier unlocked and eSIM capable
  • it is recommended to have the latest iOS version installed to your phone


You can find out if your iPhone is locked by going to Settings > General > About. If "No SIM restrictions" appears next to Carrier Lock, your iPhone is unlocked.


Automatic eSIM installation directly from the MTXC app:

  1. After a successful purchase, select Next: eSIM setup
  2. Tap on Activate Automatically
  3. Follow on-screen instructions


Install the MTX Connect eSIM using the QR code:


  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap either Cellular or Mobile Data.
  3. Tap Add Cellular Plan (or Add eSIM)
  4. Select Use QR Code

  1. Scan the QR code and follow further on-screen instructions.


On the latest iOS version, you can save the QR code to your photos. Then, to use the downloaded QR code, tap 'Open Photos' and select it.


You can install the eSIM without scanning the QR code by tapping 'Enter Details Manually' and then manually filling in the SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code.


Configure your MTX Connect eSIM:



  1. Assign Mobile Data to MTX eSIM

Important: Disable Mobile Data Switching to prevent potential extra charges on your primary SIM card.


  1. Enable **Data Roaming **

  1. Switch mobile operator to auto

  1. Set all 3 APN fields to internet (all lowercase).

  1. Restart your mobile (airplane mode is not enough).
